About the Property
The swimming pool
The swimming pool
Bastide Clos-St-Paul is a finely restored and decorated traditional Provençal bastide, or country house, with an extensive garden, surrounded by vineyards on the outskirts of Mazan, with an impressive view of Mont Ventoux. The couple who own the house live in another part of the house and have their own entrance. Guests still enjoy great privacy, and do not share any rooms, as there is a separate fully-equipped kitchen in the dining room. Visitors also have private use of the swimming pool and the garden. Six double bedrooms, all ensuite, can accommodate up to 12 guests.

Smaller groups of up to 10 can rent "La Petite Bastide" - the same house, but with a smaller number of rooms, at a special price.

The large swimming pool (6 x 12 metres) is surrounded by terraces with 10 sunbeds and parasols, and an outdoor shower. Extensive lawns have plenty of space for playing games. A large terrace at the back of the house is shaded by mature trees. A separate terrace has an, so called, 'outdoor kitchen', wooden garden furniture and parasols, while the old courtyard has a lawn for playing boules.

Inside, the house retains many original features with exposed wooden beams and tiled floors. In the large living room, couches surround a large open fireplace. The sun-filled dining room has two large tables to seat 12 guests comfortably. Double doors lead out to the dining terrace.

Upstairs, there are five bedrooms, all overlooking the vineyards. Four bedrooms have a double bed and a private bathroom with a shower or bath, basin, and toilet. The fifth bedroom has a lits-jumeaux (two similar single beds,) and also a fully equipped bathroom. On the top floor is the sixth bedroom located with a double bed and a bathroom with bath with jacuzzi, shower, double basins and toilet.

Special features: • Pool on the property
• Bilingual assistance available on site
• Maid, Cook and Driver can be arranged on request

About the Area
The village of Mazan and Mont Ventoux
The village of Mazan and Mont Ventoux
Bastide Clos-St-Paul is on the outskirts of the village of Mazan, and it is a short stroll into the centre. Mazan has a good range of shops and services, including a choice of restaurants, a café-bar, a pizzeria, a boulangerie, a butcher, a small supermarket, a post office, a pharmacy, and a doctor and dentist. The local open-air market takes place every Monday morning, with fresh regional produce for sale. A tennis court is available in Mazan; among the other activities available locally are horse riding, hiking and cycling.
About the Region
A pâtisserie in Carpentras
A pâtisserie in Carpentras
The town of Carpentras is just a few minutes away, and hosts an excellent Provençal market every Friday morning. The surrounding countryside is dotted with medieval villages and vineyards, which welcome visitors for wine-tasting sessions. The hills have excellent tracks for mountain biking or hiking. Mountain bikes can be hired locally, and horse riding is also available.

There are many great places to visit on day trips. Mont Ventoux is a famously difficult stage of the Tour de France, but visitors have the option of simply driving to the summit to enjoy the spectacular view. Also within easy reach is the historic city of Aix-en-Provence, founded by the Romans as a spa town and an important cultural and political centre during the middle ages. The Mediterranean coast is an hour and a half’s drive. A little further, one can visit the glamourous cities of Nice and St-Tropez, and Marseille, famous for its 18th century port area and its excellent seafood restaurants.
