About the Property
The swimming pool for Le Logis
The swimming pool for Le Logis
Boursignoux is a traditional Berichonne cour de ferme, a group of old stone farm buildings dating from the turn of the 18th century. The property is divided into three separate houses, each of which has its own private garden, terrace, and swimming pool. Le Logis sleeps six guests, La Grange sleeps eight, and La Longère sleeps six.

There is a large private fishing lake stocked with roach, carp and pike, which guests are welcome to use. The grounds are full of mature trees and gardens, with many paths and walkways. The courtyard and terraces have been rebuilt using reclaimed stone from the property, thus keeping a uniformity of style.

Surrounded by rolling fields, the property is located on the edge of the village of La Trimouille. Although La Trimouille offers some shops we would recommend guests have a car.

The living room in La Grange
The living room in La Grange
Each of the buildings has been carefully restored to maintain its original character. The houses have thick stone walls, exposed wooden beams in the ceilings, and original terracotta floor tiles. They're ideally set up for relaxed summer living. The houses all have a barbecue and outdoor furniture on their terrace, recliners to relax by the pool, an open fireplace in the living room, and a TV. Kitchens are all fully equipped with gas stoves and dishwashers.

The owners live in a separate house along the driveway, and are always happy to help their guests with anything, and often distribute fresh flowers and vegetables from their garden.

Special features: • Pool on the property
• Pets welcomed
• Bilingual assistance available on site
Swimming pool: Each of the 3 units has a private outdoor pool

About the Area
Boursignoux‘s private fishing lake
Boursignoux‘s private fishing lake
From Boursignoux, it is a pleasant walk into the pretty village of La Trimouille, which has many 18th century buildings. There are two restaurants, four bars, two grocery stores both carrying a range of fresh fruit and vegetabes, wines, cheeses and local produce as well as a selection of tinned and dry goods, two bakers, a newspaper shop, a florist, a bank, a cinema, and private tennis courts that can be rented from the local bar for €5 per hour.

There is also a travelling butcher's van that stops in the Place de la Mairie twice a week selling a range of homemade charcuterie and meats. An oyster and mussel market takes place on Friday mornings outside the newspaper shop. The Benaize river runs through the village, and one can fish off the bridge. There are several fine walking trails in the area. Slightly further afield is the town of Les Hérolles, home to what is said to be the oldest market in France. The market takes place on the 29th of every month (or the 28th in February) and one can buy anything there, from a donkey or a pig to the most exquisite regional cheeses and fabulous fresh vegetables.

About the Region

La Trimouille is located between three distinct regions.
The nearby river Benaize
The nearby river Benaize
There are many great things to see in Poitou-Charentes: a wildlife reserve only accessible by barge; the Valley of the Gartempe, famous for its 12th century frescoes and the World Heritage site of St-Savin Abbey; the medieval village of Angles-sur-L'Anglin, immortalized by many painters; and of course the groundbreaking Park of the Moving Image, Futuroscope, just outside Poitiers. The region has a wealth of privately owned châteaux, many of which are open to the public in spring and summer, from the 13th century château of Bourg Archambault with its moats, to the regal Château Touffou in Bonnes. Within a ninety minute drive, there are the world renowned châteaux of the Loire Valley, from Villandry, with its seasonally transforming gardens, to the impressive Chambord.
