About the Area

The view from the house towards Sablet
The view from the house towards Sablet
Les Lentiers is situated amid vineyards, just fifteen minute’s walk from the small town of Sablet. The location is quiet and private, but not isolated, and it’s a short drive to the nearby villages of Seguret, Gigondas Vacquéras and Rasteau, all famous for their wines.

The traditional village of Sablet has all the shops and services needed for day to day living, including a bank, a post office and a medical centre. There are three restaurants and a typical French café. There are tennis courts within a ten minute walk of the house, horse ridiing and rock climbing in Gigondas, and golf courses in Orange and Avignon. There are several marked walks and cycling trails leading from the village. Wine lovers will find domaines and caves à vins in abundance where one can taste and buy the excellent wines direct from the winemaker.

About the Region

The surrounding countryside
The surrounding countryside
The Vaucluse is a Côte du Rhône wine producing region rich in history and sunshine. Mont Ventoux, the famous landmark of the Tour de France, is nearby and offers splendid views over the region and beyond. It’s a short drive to the city of Avignon, the site of the medieval papacy and filled with outstanding Gothic architecture. Still older history is on display in the Roman towns of Vaison-La-Romaine, Carpentras and Orange, all within a twenty kilometre radius, and featuring historical sites and ancient theatres where events are staged through out the summer months.
The view from the garden

It’s a little further to the Roman towns of Nîmes, Arles, and Aix-en-Provence, all of which have excellent festivals and museums. Every day there is an excellent market to visit nearby, and the famous town of Isle-sur-Sorgue is a haven of antique dealers and brocante shops. Further afield are the cities of Marseille and Montpellier, the beaches of the Mediterranean sea, the national parks of the Camargue and Vercours, and the canyons of the Ardeche and Verdon rivers - a must for lovers of water sports.
