About the Property
The kitchen - dining area
The kitchen - dining area
Dating back six centuries, Maison Fleurie is a three-storey home surrounded by terrace gardens, set in the medieval heart of the village of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val. Up to six adults can sleep in a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, with part of the living room screened off if desired to create a third sleeping area. Two cots are available on request.

The house is replete with massive oak beams and retains its carved stone evier or wash basin. The careful refurbishment using antique furnishings combines the house’s medieval character with modern convenience. An insulated roof plus gas and electric heating make the house comfortable at any time of the year.

At the front, the house looks out on to the spectacular gorge of the Aveyron river. To one side is a courtyard with an unshared sunken circular heated pool, four metres across. Two stone steps give level access to the water, heated to 26 degrees (79 Fahrenheit) from May to the end of September.

The private pool courtyard is for the exclusive use of guests at Maison Fleurie. There are two terraces to the rear, one with a dining table for six plus a covered barbecue, and one for sunbathing, with sun loungers and cushions for six people.

An open-plan kitchen/dining room is on the ground floor. The modern kitchen has a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a microwave, a gas oven, a blender, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. In the outside shed is a clothes dryer. The dining table seats six.

Also on this level is a bathroom with toilet, washbasin, and tiled shower. Two high chairs and a baby bath are available for infants. On the middle floor is the living room, which has English satellite television, a DVD player, Hi-Fi, and a library of good literature.

The long living room with screen dividers will, if needed, create a private sleeping area with access to bathroom facilities independent of the upstairs bedrooms. On the top floor are two double bedrooms. One has a king sized double bed and a concealed en-suite shower. The second bedroom has twin single beds.

All beds have supportive mattresses, feather pillows and cotton bedlinen. Both bedrooms have access to a separate cloakroom with a toilet, mirror cabinet and washbasin.

Special features: • Pool on the property
• Bilingual assistance available on site
Swimming pool: Heated circular pool, 4m in diameter

About the Area
The view of Saint-Antonin from the living room
The view of Saint-Antonin from the living room
The gateway of the house leads directly into the heart of medieval Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val. In the 13th century St-Antonin was one of the most important trading spots in Europe and has the oldest town hall in France, now a museum.

During summer Saint Antonin is popular with tourists world-wide, with a vibrant market every Sunday and night market events featuring live music and outdoor dining and food cooked al fresco.

The view of Saint-Antonin from the front bedroom
The view of Saint-Antonin from the front bedroom
Summertime brings musical concerts, exhibitions and firework displays to St Antonin, featuring entertainment for adults and children alike. There are a dozen street cafes and high quality restaurants offering a wide range of cuisine.

There is no vehicular access to this part of town, which makes the cottage quieter than many rural locations, but it’s only 20 seconds to free and secure public car parking. The river Aveyron provides safe swimming, fishing, and beaches.

The surrounding countryside is rich in variety and full of colour, which one can explore by hiking the extensive network of trails and cycling the quiet rural roads. Nearby are some of the finest hilltop bastide towns to be found in France, each with its own history, events and activities.

About the Region
The town of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val
The town of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val
The ancient mid-Quercy region is a mosaic of natural topographies. It is a land of stone, water, gorges, valleys, lakes, river plains and forests, bathed in sunlight and full of colour at all times of the year. Vineyards and orchards colour the countryside, and in the markets the air is filled with the smell of apples, plums, peaches and melons.

There are many farms and vineyards to visit where visitors can sample local foods and wines. Activities nearby include swimming, canoeing, kayaking, walking, golf, fishing, caving, rock-climbing and riding. There are plenty of museums and places of historical and cultural interests to visit, including Medieval churches, temples, castles, walled towns, chapels, abbeys and perched cliff side villages.

Guest Opinions

Id like to thank you for an excellent holiday - St Antonin was everything youd said and the house was brilliant. We had a fabulous week and to some extent regretted having to move on... holidays are more than weather and location, and we had some lovely times chatting with your neighbours in the little square behind behind the cottage. They were extremely patient and helpful with our attempts to converse in French. Well definitely recommend both St. Antonin and the cottage to our friends, and hope to return there ourselves one day.

Thanks for helping us have a terrific time. The house and the village were perfect.
Daniel P. - Berkeley, California, USA

We have had a super time in St Antonin and thoroughly enjoyed staying in your little gem of a cottage.
Mary C. - Bromley, Kent, UK

There are no words to give you adequate thanks for offering such a wonderful sweet house. All of us have been so delighted to have stayed here, and been given an introduction to such an intriguing area. Thank you again. You have done a fantastic job on the house and our holiday was a delight. May all your tenants know such joy.
Kate M. - California, USA

Thanks for a super holiday. We all loved the house and its facilities (a real home from home!) St Antonin grew on us too. Never have we felt so safe in such surroundings.
Christian H. - Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, UK

Thanks again for the week at La Masion Fleurie - such a great village and local people - probably our favourite as we toured Languedoc-Roussillon.
Ron Y. - California, USA

Thank you for a wonderful stay in Saint Antonin. We were saying this evening that it is the perfect way to absorb France - weve had the time of our lives.
Jonathan and Simone M. - NSW, Australia

We had a fantastic time on our holiday and we wanted to say thank you. We think this is the 14th cottage we have stayed in in France and it is certainly one of, if not the best, we have encountered.
Robert S. - London, UK

Just to say what a wonderful time we had in St Antonin and, in particular, staying in that beautiful house. So many times when you choose holiday accommodation it rarely lives up to the hype in the brochure but Maison Fleurie is everything and more- the kids even started referring to it as home. We all agreed that it was one of the best holidays weve had and we would love to stay there again.
Peter C. - Beverley, Yorkshire, UK
