About the Property
Mas St Christophe
Mas St Christophe
Mas St. Christophe is a 35-year old villa, built in the Provençal style and perfectly designed to offer a relaxed lifestyle in the warm Mediterranean sunshine. French doors lead from every room onto the terraces which surround the house on all sides. The house is set in a lush garden with cypresses, Mediterranean pines, palms, rosemary and lavender, and a range of fruit trees and flowers. The garden gets the sun all day, but also has plenty of shady spots to relax in. The 9x5 metre swimming pool is surrounded by a terraced area, and has a pool house with dining facilities. In the back of the garden there is a place to practice one's golf swing (soft balls only), a boule court, and a playground with various activities for children. Hedges ensure privacy from the few neighbouring houses. Mas St Christophe has a spectacular view of the surrounding hilly countryside, which is dominated by wild cypresses and olive trees. Further away, the view opens to the hills and mountains around Châteuneuf-de-Grasse and Gorges-du-Loup. The house has ample parking for up to 6 cars.
The interior of the house is bright and spacious, with comfortable furniture and attractive décor. There are five bedrooms; two have double beds, and three bedrooms have a pair of single beds each. Each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom and connects directly to the garden. The house is built on a slight slope, and the arched porchway at the front of the house leads to one bedroom and a studio. The main floor is up a flight of steps. There is a large open-plan living area, a kitchen, and three bedrooms. The spacious, high-ceilinged living area is decorated with colonial-style furniture and local crafts. There is an open fireplace surrounded by couches at one end, and a dining table seating 8 at the other end. A mezzanine floor contains a TV area and study. French doors lead out onto the surrounding terraces. The master bedroom is air conditioned, with French doors leading out to a private terrace. The fully equipped kitchen is decorated in the local style, with a tiled floor and a wooden beamed ceiling. It has an additional dining table for 5. An adjacent pantry has an extra fridge, a freezer and washing machine. The kitchen leads out to an arched patio for alfresco dining, with a dining table and seating for up to 8 people. By the pool, a rustic wooden dining table seating 10-12 lies in comfortable shade.

About the Area
The Massif of the Ésterel
The Massif of the Ésterel
The village of Valbonne is a 15-20 minute walk from Mas St. Christophe. This picturesque village has a wide range of restaurants, shops, art galleries, and a weekly market. There are five good restaurants within walking distance of the house. The medieval town of Mougins is just four kilometres away in the direction of Cannes. This beautiful town is full of atmosphere and character, and has many lively restaurants, galleries, and museums in its narrow streets. The cooking of famed chef Roger Vergé, one of the most genuine master of Provençal cuisine, can be tried at the Moulin de Mougins. The village of Biot is also close by; its streets date back over 2000 years, but Biot is also famous for the glass-blowing artisans who work there. There is a public tennis court just a short walk from Mas St. Christophe, and the area has many trails for walking and cycling. The endless sunny Mediterranean beaches are just a short drive away.
About the Region
The bay of St Tropez
The bay of St Tropez
Provence is weel-konown for its great variety of sights and places to discover: history and culture, nature and people, food and wine. It has an immensely varied landscape, from its spectacular mountains to the breathtaking coastline. Cannes, famous for its film festival every May, is just a few minutes away, and the lively cities of Nice and Monaco are within an easy drive. There are many other places to visit on a day trip, including the salt marshes of the Camargue national park, the Roman city of Aix-en-Provence, with its famous arena, and the glamorous coastal city of St Tropez. There are 10 golf courses 10-20 minutes away, and many more just a little further away. There are many vineyards to visit, rivers and lakes to swim in, and caves near Grasse, which have to be explored. The homeowners have left Michelin Guide books in the house to help visitors plan their holiday.
