About the Property
The pool
The pool
Le Mas de Clara is an old three-storey stone mas or traditional Provençal farmhouse, fully restored and set in six acres (two and a half hectares) of lawns and mature trees. The property is bordered by its own vineyards producing Côtes du Rhône wines, available to guests at special prices.

Within the grounds are a 13 by 6 metre swimming pool, a tennis court, a boules court, table tennis, and plenty of lawn space for relaxing, strolling, or playing games. Six bedrooms can take up to ten adults and four children in comfort.

The dining room

The nearest neighbour is about 300 metres away and the property has a rural feel, but is conveniently close to the village of Entrechaux. Le Mas de Clara has a great view of the old château, which is set on top of a hill above the village, and of the surrounding woods and vineyards.

The house is built around a courtyard accessed from an old gate. On the ground level, the kitchen includes a dishwasher, gas oven, and fridge-freezer. The adjoining dining room has a big table to seat ten, or guests can dine outdoors at the table in the courtyard. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom with an ensuite shower room, which has its own entrance from the courtyard.

The living area
The living area
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a small terrace overlooking the garden and an ensuite bathroom. Three other bedrooms are also on this level, one with a double bed and two with twin beds ; they share a bathroom with a bath and shower.

In a large living area with views of the garden, a pair of sofas surround a stone fireplace. Overlooking it is a mezzanine with a sofa bed, television, and a play area. On this top level is a children's room with four single beds, a landing with an exercise bike, and a bathroom with a bath and shower.

Nearby Mont Ventoux
Nearby Mont Ventoux
Vaison is a Roman town with ancient ruins, an amphitheatre, and a Roman bridge, and also a mediaval castle and plenty else to explore. A good cinema frequently shows English language films, and there are also several art galleries to visit.

Mont Ventoux, a famous stage of the Tour de France, is also nearby, and gives great views from the top. In the valley of the Toulourenc river, one can swim or just picnic on the banks and relax.

About the Region
The Papal Palace in Avignon
The Papal Palace in Avignon
The region is full of interesting attractions, including Roman towns and villages such as Orange, which hosts a famous summer opera season in its ancient amphitheatre.

Within an hour's drive are the chic towns of Salon-de-Provence and Aix-en-Provence, famous for its medieval Papal Palace. The Côte d'Azur and the beaches of the Mediterranean can be reached on a day trip.

A typically Provençal field of lavender

All the main towns have art galleries and pottery shops. On any day of the week, there is a market happening within a half hour drive. The Côtes du Rhône area is famous for its delicious wines, particularly the reds and, increasingly, the rosés. The local vignerons are always happy for you to visit their domaines and taste the product.

The area is excellent for cycling, hiking, horse riding, rock climbing and many outdoor pursuits for the energetic, but life is lived at a leisurely pace- perfect for anyone who just wants to relax.
