The house is built in a U-shape, with two wings surrounding the main part of the building. The guest accommodation is in one of the wings. It is a bright and attractive space, with many antique furnishings.
Also on this floor is the bathroom with bath, shower, wc, and a washing machine. Guests can take their meals on their own terrace in the sunshine, which overlooks a large, beautifully kept garden with roses, oleander, lavender, thyme, rosemary, cypress and olive trees.
Mas de la Respelido is situated just a few minutes' walk from Sablet, a medieval Provençal village full of character that spirals up towards the church and its bell tower.

The village of Sablet is a ten-minute drive from the town of Vaison-La-Romaine, and fifteen minutes to Orange. Both towns were founded by the Romans, and are famous for their ruins and amphitheatres. Those times are well documented in excellent local museums. During the summer, they host numerous music and dance festivals as well as theatre productions.
An excellent trip is to take a boat journey down the Rhône to the Camargue wildlife park, famous for its flamingos and diverse fowl species, its wild horses and cattle herds and farms (called manades). Along the way, visit the Roman arenas at Nîmes and Arles. The medieval city of Aix-en-Provence is also an essential destination for a day trip, as is Marseille with its picturesque old city and harbour.
