About the Property
The living room
The living room
Domaine de Piaugier is a renovated old farmhouse in the village of Sablet, just between the town hall and the post office. Up to eight guests can sleep in three bedrooms.

The enclosed courtyard in front of the house has a fine shady old tree where guests can dine outside, enjoy a barbecue, and sip the owners' wine. The owners' winery is just next door, where guests are welcome to taste the wines.

The living room features a sofa and armchairs surrounding a fireplace and opens into the fully equipped kitchen.

The three bedrooms are upstairs. One has a double bed, one has a single bed and a pair of bunk beds, and one has two single beds. The house has two bathrooms.

On one side of the house is a view leading to the hillside village of Séguret. On the other side is the road from Gigondas to Vaison. All of the village's services are in easy reach.

About the Area
Sablet is an old fortified Provençal village with ancient streets and houses, surmounted by a church. Wine production is the principal activity of this village, and a fine range of excellent Côtes du Rhône are available to the visitor. Sablet has also good ammenities with bakers, butchers, grocery shops, doctors and dentists.

There is a traditional bar with a shaded patio, and a family restaurant which offers excellent value and a large patio. There are many good restaurants in the nearby villages. Swimming and horseback riding are also available nearby, and there are tennis courts in Sablet. Bike rentals are also available in the village; keen riders will enjoy the challenge of the superb hills of Dentelles de Montmirail behind Sablet.

The hills of Dentelles de Montmirail sweep down to the vineyards of Séguret, Sablet, Vacqueyras, Beaumes de Venise and Rasteau.

Nearby lies the famous Mont Ventoux , the first mountain of the Alpine chain. It reaches 1912 metres high; visitors can take long walks, bicycle and ski during the winter.

The region is an ideal location for those who appreciate long walks, painting, cycling, or just relaxing in a tranquil rural atmosphere. There are numerous picturesque villages hidden among the hills, such as Séguret, which perches on a steep hill-side.

The Romanesque chapels and churches of Beaumes de Venise, Gigondas, Séguret and Rasteau are also well worth a visit.
