Le Clos des Pins is a contemporary home built in the traditional Provençal style. The accommodation is arranged over two floors, with a warm & attractive mix of traditional and modern decoration.
Four spacious ensuite bedrooms - two with double beds, and two with twin beds - can accommodate up to eight guests in comfort.
The house is surrounded on all 4 sides by vineyards, so there are no immediate neighbours, but it is not isolated. Outside is a private pool, surrounded by a spacious terrace with sunbeds and a covered area.
Mature trees also provide shade, and there is an open lawn area and a floodlit boules pitch to play the traditional French game. Children can enjoy a pair of swings.
The shaded dining terrace has a dining table for eight and enjoys a panoramic view that takes in Mont Ventoux, a famous stage of the Tour de France.
The owners are keen cooks, and the kitchen is well equipped with everything a gourmet chef could need, including sharp knives. A games room is accessed directly from the lawn by the pool. It has table football and other games for children and teenagers.
The house is very spacious and all the bedrooms are generous in size. All four air-conditioned bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have king size (160cm) beds, and two have pairs of twin (90cm) beds.
Each of the ensuite bathrooms has twin wash basins, a shower and a WC, and one has a bath in addition.
The large living area is brightly lit by French doors opening onto the terrace. Three sofas surround an open fireplace. (Logs are included for winter rentals.) A TV has English language channels.
The local village of Villedieu is just three minutes' drive. It has a small traditional square surrounded by two restaurants and a cafe/bar. When the lights come on in the evening the atmosphere is wonderful.
A few minutes further on is the local town of Vaison-la-Romaine, founded by the Romans and filled with two thousand years of history, where the ancient, medieval, and modern are found in one place. Vaison-la-Romaine offers supermarkets and a good range of other shops and services, as well as lots of of restaurants, bars, cafes and eateries.
The area is very popular with cyclists with many climbing the famous Mont Ventoux. There are lots of good walking trails locally. Tennis courts are available in Vaison, horse riding in Le Palis, and walks by the river in Entrechaux.
For day trips, there are many great choices. Provence is rich in Roman history, and many towns and cities are filled with ancient monuments. Orange is home to one of the best-preserved Roman theatres, which hosts an annual opera festival every summer and is open to visitors all year round.
The city of Avignon is also full of history and culture. During a turbulent period in the 14th century, it was the site of the papacy, and its medieval Papal Palace is a spectacular site to visit. Avignon also hosts a famous annual theatre festival.
This is a renowned wine producing region, and the vineyards often welcome visitors to taste and buy the product. There are open markets every day of the week in the nearby towns and villages, selling local produce, wine, cheese, meats and preserves.
“Steve and Alison clearly set out to create the perfect vacation home- they paid attention to every detail. We stayed at Le Clos for the first week in July with two German couples. We’ve all traveled all over the world and agreed that this was our unanimous favorite. None of us wanted to leave, and I very much hope we will be able to come back soon. The reality of the house is even better than pictured!”

“Fabulous villa. Our 6 year old grandsons loved the pool, the swings, and the den. As for the rest of us, well, we loved the pool, the swings, and the den. The views of mount Ventoux are amazing. This is a beautiful home from home which is surrounded by vineyards and hilltop villages. Best boulangerie is in Roaix... Mmm mmm. Can’t wait to go back, thanks to Alison and Steve.”

“Everything was as or better than advertised. The hill top village of Villedieu is a pleasant walk away and the town of Vaison-la Romaine with its restaurants, Roman ruins and well preserved midieval section is a ten minute drive.”

“We had a marvelous time in this beautiful home. Big Bedrooms and four big bathrooms. The house is laid out in a logical manner so the flow is practical and one easily uses the whole house. It is shielded from the Mistral with sweeping views of the surrounding land. Alison and Steve are warm and accommodating and have thought of everything. And their level of service is top-notch. We love to cook and the kitchen had every item we needed such as good quality knives, serving platters and plenty of nice glassware and dishes.”

“Not sure how to even articulate our happiness, gratitude and our awe of your home. We have travelled all over the world and without a doubt this vacation has been our favourite easily for a number of reasons. 1, This house is perfect in every way. The bedrooms and the kitchen (where we lived) were excellent and we could live on the patio for the views. 2, Location, location, location. I was unsure about this area since I had never been here but after doing tons of day trips we fell in love with it and I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. We loved the markets, restaurants, wineries, views etc.”
Crystal T - California, USA
“We were 4 couples looking to cycle, tour, wine and dine. The house exceeded our expectations and was perfect. Steve and Alison are such attentive owners and thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. Location was perfect- close to Vaison but so private. We ate on the patio most evenings after picking up breads and meats at nearby stores. Can’t wait to return.”
