Les Cerisiers is a large stone Provencale mas, or farmhouse, part of which dates from the 18th century. Situated near the foot of Mont Ventoux, the surrounding countryside is full of picturesque hilltop villages and vineyards and is an ideal setting for walkers and cyclists. It is located in the heart of the Côtes du Rhône wine region with a wealth of famous vineyards within easy reach.
The apartment on the upper floor of the house is completely independent. It has its own private entrance and driveway and exclusive use of the pool, summer house and garden. The owner lives on the ground floor but with a separate driveway and garden on the other side of the property.
Les Cerisiers is open all year around and offers flexible accommodation in two options:
The one-bedroom apartment is available all year round and in the high season the second bedroom suite is merely closed off if the apartment is for just two guests. In this case, there is one air-conditioned double bedroom with a choice of double or twin beds, and a bathroom with a shower.
In high season (May to September) the apartment can comfortably accommodate four guests in two air-conditioned double bedrooms with a bathroom and a shower room. One bedroom has a choice of double or twin beds, and the other has a king size double bed.
Les Cerisiers retains many original features such as vaulted ceilings with original oak beams and “tomettes”, the traditional Provençal red floor tiles.
The large sunny living/dining room overlooks the main garden and the bedroom overlooks the pool area. The open plan kitchen is well equipped with an extractor unit, an induction stovetop (hob), an oven and grill, a microwave and an electric coffee maker.
The little balcony is a great spot to sit in the evening at sunset with a glass of wine overlooking Mont Ventoux. Guests have exclusive use of the summer house, barbecue area, the garden and, of course, the 7x4m swimming pool.
Set in the countryside on the edge of the little hamlet of Serres, Les Cerisiers is ideally located not only for many sightseeing options and wine-tasting but also for shopping for provisions. It’s a pleasant morning stroll to the bakery in Serres or over the road to the Café du Petit Serrois to buy fresh bread and croissants or basic groceries. There is also a post office and a petrol station within a few minutes' walk. The village of Caromb, with its typical local butcher, baker and cafés is just four kilometres away. Carpentras, which has big supermarkets, is a five minute drive. There are many good restaurants within a 10 to 15 minute drive; both reasonably priced ones with excellent menus and gourmet establishments.
The region offers endless sightseeing opportunities. Within 30 to 40 minutes' drive, there is a choice of the medieval town of Vaison la Romaine, the Palais des Papes in Avignon, and the beautiful Luberon Valley with its famous little towns of Gordes, Bonnieux, Menerbes and Lacoste. Slightly further afield are Nîmes, Arles and Orange with their famous arenas and festivals. Closer to home are some of the most famous vineyards of the Côtes du Rhône - Châteauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes de Venise.
For music lovers, July and August boast a plethora of music festivals in Avignon, Orange and Aix-en-Provence, as well as the International Piano Festival of Roque d'Antheron, which attracts some of the world's leading classical and jazz pianists. The area around Mont Ventoux is also a paradise for walkers, cyclists and bird-watchers with trails of every level amid breathtaking scenery. The summer months from the end of May to September are generally very hot and sunny. The spring and autumn continue to offer hours of sunshine, but with more moderately warm temperatures, and the months from November to March offer sunny days and cold nights.

Thanks to your perfect organisation, it was so easy for us to visit incredible places and to enjoy amazing countryside close to you. “Our sixth visit to you and so much still to see and do - this time further afield in The Drome and the Chateau de Grignan. And every day to eat the local delights: apricots, olives, aubergines, courgettes , prepared al fresco in our favorite summer kitchen. The restaurant you suggested for us with our friends was perfect. We consider you the perfect hostess in the Vaucluse.”
Laura and Gary S. - Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, USA

“Thank you for a wonderful week. It certainly was delightful coming from the cold Sydney weather to the warm lavender smells of Provence. The only complaint was that one week at Les Cerisiers is not enough! We leave with many beautiful memories of our first trip but hopefully not our last.”
