La Vieille Grange is part of a 300 year old traditional stone farmhouse, close to the ancient Provençal town of Vaison-la-Romaine. The Anglo/French owners, Alex and Sabine Suter, live on site, and are always happy to offer advice and assistance. La Vieille Grange and the surrounding vineyards are an integral part of their wine estate, "Domaine de l'Amandine", which can be visited on request. The house’s thick stone walls and terracotta tiles keep it pleasantly cool during the endless sunshine of the Mediterranean summers.
Inside, the house is decorated in warm and sunny colours and furnished in a simple, traditional style. Exposed wooden beams line the ceilings. The attractively tiled fitted kitchen is fully equipped. In the same room is a dining table and a sofa. Up a few steps is the double bedroom, which has views of the orchard and vineyards surrounding the house. A shower room adjoins the bedroom.
Sabine always makes her guests feel welcome with vases of fresh flowers, fruit, homemade jam, a baguette, a bottle of their wine and some "tapenade", a local speciality made from olives. Sabine also offers classes in Provençal cooking.
